FRAMING

Special cuts and other special embellishments can enhance framing.
The portraits above were each framed in a different way to suit the different recipients' tastes.
Matting embellishments can add a personal touch and make the difference between and regular framed piece versus exceptional.
Moulding: Burnich Moulding: Larson-Juhl Moulding: Shenandoah Moulding: Larson-Juhl

The cost of custom framing depends upon your choices of:

Mat type & number of mats; glass type; per foot frame cost; decorative or creative applications/embellishments.

The cost of any framing depends upon your selection BECAUSE YOU MAY END UP PREFERRING A MORE EXPENSIVE FRAME OR APPLICATION. THE ADVANTAGE TO CUSTOM FRAMING IS HAVING CREATIVE CHOICES.

Tractor accents added a nice touch without taking anything from the piece being framed. Decorative rivets on the frame and extra matting cuts, bring it all together.

This embossed John Deere Tractor ad is floating on a green background with spacing added to create depth, much like a shadow box, with a narrow embossed frame completing the display.

We carry mouldings from over 20+ different picture frame manufacturers so that we can offer our clients adequate choices when making their frame selection/s.

Mr. Clean and his crew picks up trash along the road sides in southeast Missouri. Although he has made a tremendous impact on cleaning up liter, he and his crew continue their daily pursuits, cleaning up after those that might be careless or overlook the impact littering and dumping has on the lovely Ozark countryside.

This 3-dimensional piece, includes an article about our Mr. Clean from the Rural Missourian, along with a colorful collection of litter, beneath the mat cut-out. The frame is from Burnich Moulding located in Montana.

TAPESTRY BEFORE AND AFTER

Above is a tapestry brought in for reframing with wood backing and the fabric directly against and stuck to the thick, aged glazing.  Mold, dirt and torn areas told the story of a family heirloom that barely survived environmental conditions.

After cleaning with a small brush, vacuuming the fabric through a screen then mending the torn areas, this tapestry was carefully stretched over a rag board the piece was double matted with a gold filet to keep the Museum glass off the surface of the piece. This family heirloom is now able to be enjoyed.

   shadow box #1

This collection of memories are from items belonging to a client's mother. Various options were offered photographed then sent via email for mat, framing and layout choices.

Deep frames are limited so clients will make a frame selection, then a box is built behind the frame to house the keepsakes. A mat with filet is raised to offset the glass.

shadow box #2

This shadow box houses mementos from a couple's Peace Corp experience. These two teachers collected sea shells and artillery shells from a Pacific Island, illustrating their trip with 3 photographs, adding dimension and meaning to their interesting collection.

This was purposefully kept small and manageable so the teachers could take this into the classroom to share their Peace Corp experience.

shadow box #3

These medals were saved over the years to frame, illustrating this client's father's military honors.  Brass plates were made to identify the medals.

The dog tags at the bottom survived a fire, though they required a great deal of cleaning to become presentable. All the medals were thoroughly cleaned and polished.

This was a lovely Christmas gift.

Conservation Clear Glass with Acid-free matting were used for all three shadow boxes.

Our showroom is on the 2nd floor of our main building but all the work is done in our studio out back.  The studio houses mat cutters, glass, matting, a dry mount press, shrink wrapper, some stock moulding and framing supplies.

This is also Dawn Allen's art studio where fotos (illustrations) are developed.
